We will pick you up early at 5:30 a.m. from your hotel in Cusco. We will then travel by private van to the village of Mollepata in the rich countryside of the Apurimac valley. We will continue our journey towards Soraypamapa, the start of our trek, at (4000m/12,750ft). After a light breakfast that will be provided by our company, we will start hiking up a moderate slope for two and a half hours until we reach Soyrococha where we will stop for lunch . After lunch , we will continue walking up for one more hour until we get to the Salkantay Pass, at (4600m/9,800ft). From this point, we can soak in the spectacular views of Salkantay. At the pass you can leave a rock carried from the bottom as a present for the mountain spirit. We will continue our downhill trek for two hours to our first campsite, Huayracmachay, located at (3800m/ 12,540ft), and have dinner

After an early delicious breakfast, we descent for 3 hours down toward the rural community of Chayllay for lunch , a long the way you will enjoy the lush green valleys, waterfalls. After lunch we walk for 5 more hours through the beginnings of the peruvian cloud forest; enjoying a myriad of flora and fauna including orchids, birds, coffee, cacao and fruit plantations. Finally we arrive at Lucmabamba where we spend the second night (2,050m/6,767ft)
Depending on the time, we will do an incredible coffee tour at the plantation adjacent to the campsite. We will begin by browsing the fields, learning about the different types of beans, and picking our own beans. There are also several fields of tomatoes and avocados. We will pick up vegetables that the chef will use for dinner that night. After picking our beans, we will roast them and grind them. Finally, we will brew and drink our own coffee! It is a truly unique experience.

Today is the most beautiful and relaxing day on our trek. After a delicious breakfast we walk for 3 hours up hill through the original Inca trail towards the ruins of LLACTAPATA located at 2,700m/8,907ft. From where you may enjoy the different angles views of the citadel of Machu Picchu and the surroundings mountains like Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu and Salkantay Mt… Then we head down for 10 minutes where we will have LUNCH right in-front of Machu Picchu, this is unique experience offered for those who like to do something . After time to enjoy the unique experience, we descent for 2 hours to Hidroelectrica, from the way you will see an amazing waterfall.. Then we take the train to Aguas Calientes where you will spend the night in a private hotel.

Waking up early we’ll take the first bus back up to Machu Picchu to enter the site as it opens. We’ll have a 2 hour guided tour of the site during which you’ll learn about the Incas and visit all the most important areas of the citadel. After your tour you’ll have free time to explore the site by yourself and if you have permits to climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo from where you will carry on by bus back to Cusco.
